In order to fulfill its mission, the University Center for Research and Innovation (UCRI):

a) conducts all types of research, strengthening interdisciplinary research activities within the Higher Education Institution (HEI) and promoting interdisciplinary excellence and innovation,

b) supports new collaborative research structures,

c) implements research or development projects/programs and conducts industrial research for companies and organizations,

d) prepares studies and provides services to third parties, including public sector bodies, as defined in point (a) of paragraph 1 of Article 14 of Law 4270/2014 (Government Gazette A’ 143),

e) economically exploits research results and the know-how produced through its activities,

f) contributes to the specialization of students or graduates of first- and second-cycle study programs, as well as doctoral and postdoctoral researchers of the HEI, in theoretical and applied areas of interdisciplinary fields cultivated by the individual academic units of HEIs,

g) contributes to the creation and use of shared research infrastructures,

h) supports the research groups of the HEI and contributes to the development of a new generation of researchers with a high level of knowledge and interdisciplinary expertise,

i) participates in researcher mobility programs,

j) collaborates with UCRIs of other HEIs, universities abroad, research and technological institutions in Greece or abroad, international organizations and bodies, public sector bodies (as defined in point (a) of paragraph 1 of Article 14 of Law 4270/2014), scientific organizations and associations, as well as productive sector entities in Greece or abroad,

ia) concludes agreements of all kinds for the creation of business and knowledge networks, business clusters, and knowledge and innovation communities,

ib) mediates the connection of research with education, the economy, society, and culture,

ig) contributes to the internationalization of the HEI and the attraction of new researchers,

id) develops any other activity related to its mission in order to achieve its objectives.
